Hi!

Here I am in mid-May 2005, just after I was diagnosed with amyloidosis. I've lost a little weight and I'm little stressed out, but other than some peripheral edema I am feeling fine.
In May 2005, I learned that I had developed amyloidosis, a rare protein folding disease. This is my story.

Hi Tony!
It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance and to meet Pat's son. I work with your Mom and care very much about you both. This has been an informative BLOG and you are very generous to share your frightening ordeal with all who are interested. My thoughts and prayers and those of all who know and love your Mom are with you.

Hi Tony,
I have been reading your blog and it has given me so much inspiration. I was diagnoses with primary amy in 9/04 and have not yet been a candidate for SCT because it is in my GI tract and heart. Just reading your words makes me feel better. Unless you have this dreadful disease, you just don't understand what we are going through. My thughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Tony,
Good luck to you and keep up the fight. You have to take one day at a time.
I was diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis (pulmonary)a couple years ago, The amyloid is "only" destroying my lungs at this time. I had a SCT at Mayo Clinic in October 2003 and I now am back to "normal" ( I run 4 miles a day). I am considered in "remission". When I went through the stem cell transplant process I had the same feelings you're having now. Just try to make it through the day and before you know it, you'll be feeling better. Everyday you'll feel a little better. And as for your mother, isn't she the best?! My mom came with me to Mayo Clinic and was at my side the whole month I was there. I was very lucky to have such a wonderful mother by my side to take care of me. (Both my kids were in college) It seems like your mom is a great as mine. Take care and keep up the good fight.
Here's my email address in case there's anything I can help or answer for you.
