Day + 21, The Fall
I'm pleased to announce that the diuretic treatment given to me yesterday ended up being very successful. I lost 2 pounds. Only 12 more to go. That adds up to 5 pounds lost the week. Believe me, I can feel the difference. Walking around the apartment is a little less laborious, and I have a lot more energy. But not as much as I thought, as I discovered this morning.
This morning I felt really good, forgoing the elevator and actually walking down 4 flights of steps. Outside of our building, there are 3 concrete steps to get to the sidewalk. Feeling like Superman and in awe of my new found energy, I decided to leap up one of the stairs. Now, you need to remember I have 6 extra pounds in each leg. I had forgotten this important fact until I came down to land. As my leg hit the ground, I discovered an extra 6 pounds of load on my knee.
So what did I do? I fell on my ass, that's what I did.
It was a lazy stumble to the concrete as I tripped under myself. My mother, who was behind me, watched in horror as my head fell towards the concrete wall. But like a bloated ninja, I rolled at the last second, avoiding the wall and landing on my leg and arm.
Thank god I had the fluid in my leg, as I sort of bounced when I landed. I did scrape my hand, but nothing serious.
Anyway, that was my excitement today. I've been given the same pills as yesterday, and hopefully I will continue to lose weight over the weekend.

Hi Anthony,
It does sound like you are doing very, very well. God has answered our prayers. I feel bad that you fell. Be sure to take something for the pain. We are all still praying for you as the days and months continue. Well, got to run now. We love you very much, Anthony.
Love,
Nickolas, Little Andrea and Jeff
P.S. We love you too, Aunt Patty. Continue to hang in there. We miss you!!
