Walking The Thin Man

In May 2005, I learned that I had developed amyloidosis, a rare protein folding disease. This is my story.

Day + 9 , Weekend Recap

Well, it seems that I am slowly getting my bearings again. I am no longer in a drugged up mood (with the exception of my self-provided Ativan when necessary). I am able to hold my concentration just a little bit longer, which allows me to do some of the regular things that I've wanted to do. Such as watch TV, or go on the computer. But not 100% percent yet...

This makes the day(s) seem to go by all that much smoother. I am very, very glad that the last few days are now past me, as they were not fun at all.

In a few days I expect me to be myself. In the meantime, I've been gaining fluid (up about 10 pounds) as my body gets fed liquids on a daily basis. No major problem with this, but walking is difficult. I'm sure they will deal with the fluid issue later this week.
