Article in the Des Moines Register

Chiodo saw every kind of specialist known to modern medicine and nobody could figure out what was wrong. But then he hooked up with an internist named John Yost, who got some help and went after it hard.

After months of uncertainty, the doctors decided it could be only one thing. It was a rare disease called primary amyloidosis, which has something to do with disease-fighting antibodies running amok, clogging up the works and destroying vital organs.

An article about Ned Chiodo, a lobbyist and author in New Orleans. It can be found here.
