Beyond The Badge

It's like life has been out of focus, to a lesser or greater degree, since May 4th 2005. Life is blurred, I feel as if I'm existing in another plane, just feet away from where my actual self is going about her life. I'm viewing things through a pane of frosted glass, removed, distant from events. However every now and then it snaps back into focus, I rejoin the real plane of existence and the pain is intense.

Beyond The Badge is a online journal of a 22-year old woman in Great Britain who suddenly lost her father to amyloidosis earlier this year. Her entries provide a glimpse into some of the darker emotions attached with this terrible disease, and the struggle to overcome them. It is heartwrenching and cathartic.
