Walking The Thin Man

In May 2005, I learned that I had developed amyloidosis, a rare protein folding disease. This is my story.

Team Tony Crunches 250 Work Units!

Thanks to the hardcore recruiting efforts of Beth, there are now 30 machines leading the effort to promote amyloidosis awareness. No doubt that this will make a dent -- a small one, but a dent nonetheless -- in finding a cure for amyloid-related diseases.

The Team
hit a major milestone tonight: we've successfully crunched 250 work units!

Together we've put out a couple thousand computer hours of protein folding work. This is a major achievement -- especially for a group that was created less than 5 weeks ago. We are currently ranked around 3250, and rising. Around Thanksgiving, I estimated that we would enter the coveted top 2000 teams by the end of next year. But because of our increased output, I see this happening before the end of January.

I think we've got enough members to warrant putting together a separate website for the team. I can't promise anything, but I'll try to put something together for the holidays.
