Day + 10, No Labor Today
I didn't celebrate Labor Day vigorously this year, but I did celebrate in not working. Or doing much of anything, actually.
We had to make a quick trip into the hospital to check my blood counts to see how they are doing. My white blood counts have jumped, as expected, from 2.5 to 13.7. My stem cells have now been 'engrafted' into my bone marrow. This means that I've got a fresh set of new recruits to fight off any infections that may come into my system. Of course, they're all young and dumb, so I'll still have to wear the mask in public for a couple of months as they mature. I wasn't surprised with this news; it appears that I am right on schedule.
The rest of the day was uneventful -- a picnic at a lake near my home, a nap, and some XBox indulgement filled up the remainder. I'm spent; here's hoping that all of this activity will tire me out for a full night's worth of sleep, which has eluded me for the last week.
I also indulged in a hot fudge sundae this afternoon, which is now wrecking havoc on my insides right now. But it was good, and yes, it was worth it!
I expect the upcoming week to be more of the same -- with slow, very slow improvements. Over the next few days I'll go over in detail some of the specific issues that I am dealing with at this point, such as the now ongoing fallout from the chemo, and of course, the edema.

Hi Anthony,
Congradulations on your jumping white blood cell count. 2.5 to 13.7, that is amazing. We have high hopes for you as always. The prayers and thoughts are working in full force. We will sure keep it up. I bet you are very happy, Aunt Patty. Just continue to hang in there...both of you. This will pass with flying colors.
Love,
Nickolas, Little Andrea & Jeff
