Day + 16: Pain In The Neck

For the last 4 days, I've had this nagging pain in my neck. At first I had thought I slept the wrong way, but as the days progressed and the pain got worse, it seemed to be more like a swollen gland. Great, that's the last thing I need right now -- especially being so close from my transplant.

Last night, the pain increased from simple tenderness to a full-scale throb from the bottom of my ear to the bottom of my neck. Because it gradually increased in intensity over the course of a couple days, I felt it was best to call in to the hospital to get their opinion.

Based of my description of the symptoms, they were not able to diagnose me. As a result, they asked me to come into the ER over at Boston Medical Center. So, at 10:30pm last night, my mother and I made the trek into city to the emergency room.

After a couple of hours of waiting and some visits with doctors, there still wasn't any insight to my swollen glands. I was told to watch it and call back in if it continued to get worse.

So, today was a lazy day filled with many, many naps. I'm glad to report that the swelling is down a little bit from last night, for which I am very thankful.
