Day + 9: Back to the Apartment

It's terribly hard to believe that I started treatment less than two weeks ago. It really feels as if I've been going through this for at least a month.

For the first time since the beginning of my treatment, we actually had a day off from the hospital. Because of this break, and my good news on the white blood cell counts yesterday, my mother and I decided to return back to my apartment after spending a week in the hotel. This has not only provided us with a psychological boost, but also a financial one -- I was paying over $200 a night for that suite.

Most of the day was spent unwinding and relaxing. The pain from the neupogen shots has finally subsided, and I am able to finally relax. Tonight, I am hoping for the first good night of sleep in a long time.

Tony and Mom,

Have been thinking about you and am happy to see that Tony is coming out of the dark parts of his journey into the light. Go Tony! Go Mom! You are the greatest!

Hugs, Sue Keith
