Study: Hotel Rooms Have Unseen Guests | Chicago Tribune

One of the main things I regretted when going through my two stem cell transplants was the need to stay at a hotel close to the hospital during the first week or so of my treatment. Not only aren't there facilities to allow you to cook proper food, but you can only imagine the types of germs that are hanging around the hospital room.

I guess that my fears aren't entirely unfounded.

Word of advice: If you have to stay in a hotel room for an extended period of time while you are immunosuppressed, be sure to sanitize everything with bleach or alcohol before making yourself at home.
