Back and Legs Better... Wallet - Not So Much
One of the reasons why I was feeling so miserable once I returned to work was the fact that I was sitting in a kitchen chair for 8 hours a day working on the computer. This put a lot of strain on my back, and cut off circulation in my upper legs, which caused my edema to build up.
About two weeks ago, after gaining 3 pounds of fluid and chronic lower back pain, I decided that enough was enough. I needed a solution, no matter what the cost. And so I opened up eBay and went to work.
One hour later I had come up with the cure for what was ailing me -- a Herman-Miller fully loaded Size-B Aeron Seating System.
This chair is the mother of all office chairs. I've had the opportunity to use this chair, er, seating system, a couple of times a various jobs, and now I felt that it was the time to own one of my own. Sure, this baby will set you back $700, but look at all of the features! PostureFit technology... graphite construction... this is seating nirvana. The mesh construction is easy on the back and legs, allowing for better circulation. And did I mention it was comfortable?
So there'll be an aching in my wallet for some time to come, but the back and legs are now feeling A-OK.

I have that very same chair at my desk at work. :) Wicked comfy.
Strain on back from kitchen chair - 3 pounds of fluid.
New chair - an empty wallet.
Comfort while working - priceless!!
I also am fortunate enough to have one of those baby's at work. Big difference! Make sure you line up the chair arms slightly below your desk - otherwise you'll soon find yourself with carpel tunnel symptoms. If the arms on my chair are slightly lower than my desk AND I use a foam cushion between me and the keyboard, then no problems with wrist pain. Enjoy the new chair!
