Five Months
A blink of an eye, another month. Well, not really. The days do tend to move slowly in these situations.
As always, the lack of postings has not been of laziness or unwillingness to sit down and write, but that there really hasn't been much progress to speak of this month, save the growth of a little more hair on the head -- which is most welcomed in this cold, January weather.
There has still been no noticeable change in the edema over the last month -- the chair is helping somewhat, but there is still problems from sitting for long periods of time, which I am still doing. As you can see from the following graph, I was great making progress... until I went back to work at the beginning of the month.

Still -- this is good progress. I'm down to around 20mg of Lasix a day. To give you some reference, 40mg of Lasix is "a big dose". In August, before I started treatment, I was taking 160mg a day. This average is a little misleading, since I find that 40mg a day is the lowest effective dose I can take at this time. Although I can take a 20mg pill a day, it doesn't seem to do anything. So I end up taking 40mg every other day, and that seems to work out a little better.
I'm guessing that once I start working out of the house, I expect things to normalize back to their pre-work levels. Hopefully, February will give me better news.

Hey Tony,
It's good to hear you are still hanging in there. My dad had a SCT in Sept. and just got the results from his 100 day checkup. All the number went down but the doctors are thinking a 2nd SCT will be needed within 3 months. I would like for him to go to Boston just to see what they have to say. What is your Doctor's name or which doctor would you prefer to see? Also, what is the phone number to make an appointment?
Thanks for your help!
